Polyethylene (PE) Pipe
Poly Pipe is a quality supplier that offers Polyethylene (PE) pipe in sizes ranging from 16mm to 800mm in outside diameter and are available in 12 metre lengths as standard. Other lengths are available on application. Where transport regulations permit, up to 25 metre lengths can be supplied, special conditions may apply.
The two main types of PE used for the manufacture of pipes are PE80 and PE100, which are made in accordance with Australian standards AS4130 using material complying with AS4131.
PE pipe should be handled, stored and installed in accordance with Australian Standard AS/NZS 2033:2008 - Installation of polyethylene pipe systems. Local Authority regulations and specifications should also be adhered to.
PE pipe offers numerous advantages for above ground and below ground installations due to its numerous materials benefits relative to iron, steel and
cements pipes.
With its resistance to corrosion and ground movements, PE has proven advantages in highly corrosive environments and earthquake zones.
An intrinsic feature of PE is its flexibility and low weight that generate cost savings in transportation, assembly and installation.
Trenchless technology is used to pull long length PE pipes through underground holes bored by mechanical moles, thus reducing above ground activities and environmental disturbance. PE Pipe is ideal for restoring dated infrastructure or constructing new projects in busy urban areas.
As PE pipe is fusion welded, there is negligible risk of leaking from joint distortion. Applications for PE pipe include pressure and non-pressure pipelines for drinking water, irrigation, wastewater, electrical, industrial, mining and telecommunications industries.
